Painted in 1870 by an unknown artist, this delicate landscape watercolour painting of Keswick, The Lake District, is in great condition, demonstrating the town in the 19th century.

This light and attractive landscape has a gentle natural palette of blues and greens. This piece is mounted in a gold, rustic-style, custom wooden frame, made and framed by the gallery team.

This painting is a part of a collection of watercolours by an anonymous British hand, dated 1863-71. The artist was likely one of the large number of genteel Victorian women who devoted their leisure time to the art of watercolour painting.
